Day 1: Tokyo

Day 1: Tokyo

Left home 6am on Saturday and arrived in Tokyo around 8pm on Sunday. Time zones are crazy.

Shibuya

The Shibuya Scramble if famous for being… a busy intersection.

Ichiran

Ichiran is a chain, but is relatively well regarded. There are two of them in Shibuya. The one I stopped at first had a 50 minute wait, but the other I could walk right in. Apparently it‘s the “antisocial” Ichiran. You order from a touch screen and each person has their own mini booth where the screen pulls up and they deliver your ramen. They are known for tonkotsu pork ramen, so thats what I had. Perfect for an 11pm jet lagged dinner.

SG Club

Speakeasy style cocktail joint with 3 separate bars in one. I skipped the upstairs cigar bar, but on the first floor “guzzle” bar I had the Tom Yum Kick (gin, lemongrass, galangal, chili) and a Japanese whisky “sawá“. In the basement “sip” bar i had a Whisky Nigiri (Japanese whisky, aged sake, sushi vinegar, wasabi).
